Of course, sitting around watching TV and playing video games is not the best use of our child's time -- at least not in general.
There are certainly activities and other games that our children can be doing, but it is not always a bad thing for our children to play toddler games online. If you can find quality toddler games online for your child to play, he or she will learn things like how to share, safety, how to say words in different languages and so on.
Most importantly though, your child will learn that you do care about what he or she likes and is interested in. If you allow your toddler to play some games online, then he or she will be more likely to go outside and play or sit down and look at flash cards or whatever other learning techniques you employ.

The key here is balance and reasonableness Too often I see parents who go to an extreme and isolate their child from his/her friends.
When that happens they feel out-of-place and do not feel like they fit in with their peers.
When this happens, the child is more prone to rebel and do whatever he or she wants. Why not be reasonable and allow your child some time on the computer or in front of the television. As long as you monitor the time they spend playing toddler games online as well as the games they play, then it can be an enjoyable and fun experience for all.
